Lava Mountain Wind Station |
|
The Lava Mountain Wind Station is located on Lava Mountain on the
Continental Divide at an elevation of 10,430 feet. At this site temperature, humidity,
and wind sensors are mounted on the Wyoming Public Television KCWC relay tower. The buildup of rime ice on the wind sensor may cause this station to report lower wind speeds
than are actually occurring.
